Susan Pugh first studied violin in a Suzuki program as a child in Baltimore at the Peabody Conservatory of Music, Early Music Training Division.  After leaving Baltimore she continued her studies in Houston and Austin. Susan attended The Juilliard School and earned a Bachelor of Music degree in viola performance, studying under William Lincer, an incredibly dedicated pedagogue who inspired a desire to explore teaching in many of his students. To pursue that goal, Susan attended the University of Texas at Austin and taught in the university’s acclaimed String Project program under the direction of Phyllis Young while earning a Masters of Music in viola performance.

Mrs. Pugh has taught for 24 years in the public schools, first as an elementary and junior high orchestra director, and then for the last 16 years as a Suzuki teacher for Wilshire Elementary School.
